Card badges
Card badges show Card Vault+ status directly on the card front in Trello so you can see protection at a glance.
Badge states
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Protected | Card has saved snapshots — shows version count when enabled |
| Needs snapshot | Card changed or has no recent snapshot |
| Recoverable | Card is missing from the board but has snapshots you can restore |
| Issue | Sync or authorization problem — check Settings |
Badge display options
Configure how badges appear in Settings → Card badge display:
| Option | What you see |
|---|---|
| Off | No card-front badge |
| Icon only | Shield icon without text |
| Icon + version count | Shield with number of saved versions |
| Icon + status text | Shield with short status label |
Badges update after board sync. Reload the board if badges look stale after a large sync.
Tips
- Use Icon + version count on boards where version history matters most.
- Use Off if badges feel noisy on a lightly protected board.
- Cards in Needs snapshot appear in the dashboard Needs attention section.
